WHY "OCCUPY WALL STREET" ?

Some people just do not understand why others believe in certain conspiracy theories.  The common response is to deride them, call them names, and belittle them in an effort to make themselves believe that the party-lines are truth.  Some people have made a "science" out of conspiracy theorists, creating their own theories for why people believe stuff that is out of the norm.  They have their points.

However, people who believe in conspiracies cannot fairly be lumped together.  There are also very good points for believing in conspiracies.  Just take a close look at history.  It is full of examples of conspiracies.

Weird theories are very difficult for most people to accept--it is hard to wrap your head around them.  And if they are true, they are very scary to believe sometimes.  It's easier, feels better to stay coddled in warm comforting lies.

It is true, some conspiracy theorists may be unbalanced; however, it does not follow that all are.  What are most people's response to conspiracy theorists?  It is just easier to judge them altogether, and their theories with them, and call them "kooky" or "crackpots" or worse.  That way people can stay away from some things that demand attention and investigation; that way people won't stand out from the crowd and be called names; that way people can feel safer and more optimistic.


Using Culture Theory, we can explain why there continues to be a separation between the many and the few.  Most people do not like to be on the "fringe" of society, be ridiculed and some kind of outcasts.  They prefer the sense of safety in conformity.

Using Terror Management Theory, we can explain why people shy away from believing the outrageous--phenomena that cannot be easily explained.  We like pat answers; we want to believe what we were conditioned to believe; we don't want to think that, willingly or unwillingly, our parents, our society at large, our churches, and our governments have deceived us.
We don't want to rock our worldviews.  We are all looking for security--reasons for life and afterlife.  It is our existential person hood, our basic psychology.  Critical thinking interferes with the nest of lies society has helped us build for ourselves.  Anyway, it is easier to have others do the thinking for us.  Sadly, some of us never grow up or out of that mind-set.  Terror is a great motivator to stay blind and stay in-line.

Personally, I don't know whether to believe in God, crop circles, alien interference in our world, the Lochness monster or Bigfoot.  However, there are certain conspiracies that are difficult to deny with logic.  World banking is one of them.

Some Clear Message for Occupy Wall Street By Rand Clifford, Information Clearing House, October 10, 2011 is an article I urge you to read.  I've provided a few quotes from the article to give you a taste truth and history.

Do you wonder why some people believe there is a relatively small group of powerful people pulling political strings?

EINSTEIN ON ISRAEL

Many people believe that Einstein was in favor of the Zionist state and was a strong supporter in its creation.  These beliefs are far from the truth.  Please read the quote below; it will give you a deeper and more detailed understanding of Einstein's viewpoint on Israel.

POLITICAL BELIEFS AND THE BIGGER PICTURE

I just read someone's right-wing blog about the terrible state we are in, blaming it on the democrats.  I don't disagree that we are in crisis mode in the US; however, I am mind-boggled at the repetitive, thoughtless rhetoric of political party loyalists.

You don't have to be right-wing to be mindless.  We have plenty of mindless left-wingers, too!  (We are an equal opportunity country--for better or worse.  I find extremists in any field generally too motivated by their emotions, rather than their logic.  Their vision is usually clouded.

The following is the comment I left on his blog in answer to his rant on the state of the Union.  I wanted to shed some light on how peoples' psychology makes them believe and act.  It's always best to look at the bigger picture and not get trapped into mimicking rhetoric.

"And what do you offer as options or alternatives to the government we have?

I agree that there exists much hypocrisy in America that makes me want to pull my hair out.  Even overseas (where I lived for a long time), America is known for its hypocrisy.  But that could be a result of having more freedoms, thus having more polarization.  It is always more fun and easier to point at the negatives.  It’s what sells.

I think that, in most cases, if you are on the right or left politically it is a result of the information you are exposed to, starting from the family.  If you choose to believe one way, you will generally read literature that supports your belief, thereby continuing to strengthen your beliefs, even in the face of opposing facts.  That’s how our brains work.

Politics, like religion, is so emotionally loaded. So it becomes difficult to think critically. 

Personally, while I don’t like to be legally obligated to pay taxes to help the poor, etc., I would rather the system was more socialistic than to experience the mayhem, the suffering, the craziness we have these days.  Having lived overseas, I am not as afraid of socialism as most in America.  I have seen the quality of life and people’s happiness in Europe, for example, to be much higher than ours!

Some people blame the religious right, some the religious left, some the non-religious. Religious people cannot be put in one basket.  They are as polarized as the US!  On one extreme, they feel that people’s bad fortune is due to some moral failing; on the other, they are extremely supportive of anyone who is a democrat, regardless of unsavory facts about the candidate.

We are under the thumb of higher powers (and I don’t mean God).  It has less to do with right and left than it has to do with money and power, banks and the elite.  Republicans seem to be different than democrats--but we are just looking at their masks.  They are ultimately after the same thing:  money and power.

These people in power are very sick, narcissistic sociopaths, for the most part.  It’s a very scary situation.

Life, politics, religion--nothing is black and white.  It is easy to criticize--and I support constructive criticism--however, I would like to hear more ideas about what we need to change to live better, freer lives.

We need, as a people, to unite, rebel, and get our power BACK!  Otherwise, our citizens will just continue in ignorance, complaining, and unwittingly giving their power to "those who pull the strings behind the curtain!"

TE POWER AND CONTROL

POWER AND CONTROL:  You expect to control others.  Since you are special you think others should obey you.  You use power thrusts (getting over physically or psychologically on another person) to get out of zero state.  Getting over on others, lying, manipulating are all good ways to control others; they do not have the right to make any demands on you.

Example:          You tell your boyfriend that he had better have sex with you because if he doesn’t you’ll find someone who will.

Payoff:              You get people to do what you want.  You feel superior to others.  You do not have to do what others ask of you.

Consequence:   You do not know how to have a relationship with another person (due in part to your selfishness).  People avoid you.  You do not know how to meet your own needs since you are used to other people meeting them for you.

A GRIMOIRE OF AMERICAN FORCES

There have been too many sightings of UFO's to deny them.  We have to ask, where did they come from and why are they here?  One Indian TV network showed a program on these sightings--so many had witnessed them--they felt they needed to show them.  Unfortunately, the corporate entities pulled it off the air.

With the internet, we can see evidence that extraterrestrials are trying to communicate with the earth.  And thousands of people attest to personal experiences of being abducted.  Do you really think they are all crazy?

Peter Levenda, also known as "Simon", seems to be an expert on the occult behind politics, including contemporary occult, but also the occult behind Hitler.  

Anyone who has followed the History Channels will be acquainted with Hitler's fascination with the occult, spurred on  by his henchman, Hermann Goering.  Hitler was a member of the "Thule Society".  (Look it up.  This isn't just speculation.)  

He believed in Astrology and had a very accurate reading by a famous astrologer who he later murdered.  (Bad move for Hitler, because the astrologer had warned him if the astrologer was ever put in danger, Hitler would not fulfill his dreams.)

Anyway, Peter Levenda is trying to bring to attention to what he believes is a secret space program and that the U.S. has access to secret technology, and claims that we are working with aliens in  the U.S. government space program.  (Ever wonder why the U.S. discontinued the Challenger series?)

Peter also explains that there are connections between the space program and people from the occult, working with scientists from Nazi Germany.  (Yes, is it still going on after all these intervening years!  Amazing, no?  I mean, if it is true?!)




UFO'S OVER HAITI

Peter states that these events are being seen contemporaneously by the world as the UFO phenomena.  Richard M. Doland, author and historian, backs up this information.  He wrote a book called, "UFOs and the National Security state."

Fascinating.  I've always wondered whether the "powers that be" are aware of UFO events.  There are just too many reports of UFO activity to relegate it to fantasy or extremism in UFO beliefs anymore.  

I believe the government knows something--just what, I'm not sure.  But why are "they" keeping these secrets from us?!  And the whole world?  

Are "they" trying to take our attention away from their other unethical machinations they have planned for the USA--and for the world?  You know, trying to distract us?

If so, you can bet on the motivation having something to do with power.  It usually does.  I think this situation is very disturbing and destroys our trust in the government's involvement in and knowledge about UFOs.

What does this have to do with psychology, philosophy, religion, literature, art, etc.?  Everything!  If this is true, it might change almost every perspective we have about humankind.  

Am I an alarmist?  I try not to be, but the evidence seems overwhelming.  I don't want to be known as some kind of extremist or conspiracy theorist (I've always prided myself on being rational), however the facts seem to speak for themselves! 

After so many sightings, it seems illogical to throw out the possibility of UFO's interacting with the earth--and humans!

In addition to concerns about religion, philosophy, psychology, politics, the coming apocalypse, the almost inevitable failure of the dollar and resulting inflation, and trying to survive through it all, do we need to consider that we are under surveillance of other worlds?  Or even, in some respect more dastardly, secret surveillance of our own world?

What do you religious people make of these phenomena?  

 

What does anyone think is happening in the skies above our earth?  

 

And about the many abductions?  

Do you think God is preparing us for his return?  

Is it a means by which to expand our mind, our experience, so that we can better accept the being we will call "God?"

MY EXPERIENCE WITH NEUROLINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING

Ever heard of NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming)?  Ever heard of the "Landmark Forum?"  This type of psychological approach claims to be therapeutic and has become especially popular, in the last decade or so, with not only therapists, but also Life Coaches.  However, NLP is losing fans; among them are therapists.  The next "new" thing began to prove to be the same old thing with a different face:  promises of a quick fix through an intensive program.

NLP is very controversial.  The "inventors" claim that using NLP helps people become more self-aware and improve communication.  Though they focus on the above reasons for using NLP now, in the past, they have made outrageous, unfounded, unscientific claims for all kinds of disorders that have been resoundingly discredited.

The creators of NLP claim that they developed their methods by watching the

body-language and speech patterns of well known practitioners and hypnotists:  Fritz Perls, Virginia Satir, and Milton Freedman.  There's also a little of this 'n that thrown in and, of course, impressive psychological terms.

Tony Robbins was an advocate of NLP; he started inspiring a string of "believers" on their quest for self-improvement and making money.  However, despite the testimonies of initial believers, the positive effects of NLP do not seem to last long.

The more I read about NLP, the more I got creeped out.  For instance, my NLP-loving practicum director referred me to the "Landmark Forum" (LP), commenting to my doubts that it was not for the "faint of heart".  I found out that LF is a revised version of EST of the 1960's-70's (which has been strongly criticized and discontinued).  There are cult-like aspects to LF, as many who experienced the intense 3-day weekend "mind makeover" have testified.  (I think I'm getting really good at sniffing out cult-stuff, having been raised in one.)

As likeable as my practicum director was, it didn't take long before I started having weird vibes from her.  As my practicum progressed, she began instilling what I believe were unethical and substandard practices into the program.  I was torn; there were aspects I loved about doing therapy and helping the program as practicum co-ordinator, but when obviously unethical boundaries caused me to hit the wall, I decided to change practicums.

Admittedly, doing therapy requires some manipulation through focusing on points needing attention, asking the right questions, and having good communication and repoire with the client.  However, the process is practiced under guidelines of being genuine, authentic, warm, and empathetic--and really caring about the client.

NLP is not only used for positive ends, as in therapy.  NLP is often taught to people in sales to help them increase their business.  It appears to be a quick, slick way to teach tricks and tactics designed to manipulate the customer. 

I saw the same processes at work in my practicum that I found online.  It began with a program my director created for decision-making that really contained some great and powerful insights (gathered from other theoretical models in psychology). However, as practicum students, we had little training, were given very questionable advice, and then were thrown into untenable situations with clients. Confidentiality (the bedrock of good therapy!) was often unnecessarily violated. It finally became clear to me that the director, who was raised in a  cult, seemed to operate her program in a cult-like way.  In my experience, the world of psychotherapy techniques and values I had been taught growing up and in school were crossing into dangerous territory.

I am a staunch proponent of improvement in training and mental health centers and I am very open to considering change. I think she saw my "open door" and agreed to work closely with me in helping her in the organization.  However, the director ultimately betrayed her motives by her actions, her comments, and her communication style.  Unfortunately, she proved to be manipulative and dishonest at times.  I believe, in her exuberance to create and push her program forward and gain credibility, the clients' needs many times came second.

Despite several conversations I had with her regarding serious disagreements with some protocols and procedures, nothing much changed.  Serious breaches in therapeutic ethics occurred over a short time.  I watched as my director maneuvered between students, clients, and authority figures to keep her practicum students and the program afloat.  She worked hard to garner degrees (though not in psychology), certificates--even a ministry diploma--trying to increase the scope of her influence and authority.  While I was there, she also became a deputy.  She appeared very ambitious with a smattering of Machiavellianism thrown in.  It made me very uncomfortable at times.

I liked her at first; then she lost my trust.  Without trust, you severely limit your effectiveness with students and clients.  She made empty promises, even using deceit, trying to manipulate people and situations to keep her program afloat.  Sadly, she really believed in her program and worked diligently at it--often at the price of self-care.  As time went on, her actions felt more and more fanatic.  Clearly, this woman felt driven to get much power in her life, even at the risk of losing her students (which she eventually did) and damaging the success of her program (which is exactly what happened).

Granted, not all NLP practitioners are alike.  (She definitely had her personal issues.)  However, if you or someone else you know is considering therapy or Life Coaching with a practitioner who believes wholeheartedly in NLP, be very careful before you drink the Kool-aid!

My director's off-used phrase?  "Perception is reality!"  I cringe remembering those words. They were half-truths in Existential Psychology she created for highly manipulative clients in deep denial.  The thought of giving these especially potentially dangerous clients the "everything is relative" schtick made me shudder. I'm so glad I changed practicums and luckily found myself at a top rate community mental health center.

THE DEBT CEILING

A good friend of mine recently sent me an article on the Debt Ceiling.  I was wowed.

 

"The debt ceiling crisis can be averted by enforcing the Fourteenth Amendment, which mandates the government to pay its debts already incurred, including pensions. That means Social Security, which IS an "entitlement," in the original sense of the word. We're entitled to it because we've paid for it with taxes."

If we just went along with our constitution, there would be no question about debating what to do in our situation.  That is my not-so-brilliant political statement for the day.  It sounded pretty good to me, but only IF our politicians enforce the law under the constitution!

 

Why do we need the Federal Reserve Bank?  Who owns it?  What is their purpose?  Do they have ultimate goals in mind for the USA--or even for the world?

 

If you follow the money, you follow the powers-that-be.  That seems clear to me, even as a novice in discovering political intrigue.

 

The Fed is an integral part in American politics.  However, did you know that the Federal Govn't really has NOTHING to do with this bank--no control over it?  It doesn't own it or operate it.  It collaborates with it.  THE FED IS A PRIVATELY OWNED BANK.  DOESN'T THAT CONCERN YOU???

 

So what are the Fed's goals and agendas?  Ever think about it?  Strange, isn't it, for a country such as ours?  Can YOU explain it away?

 

As you read the site, Board of the Governors of the Federal Bank, can you smell the hidden agendas?  The information they are not unveiling?

 

Money is power and the banks, for the most part, have the money!  Check this out before you vote.  You might help to save America from losing its Constitutional rights.
